Project Blue : Devil - ALTENZO Front Tyres

Just took my little Blue Devil to have both front tires replaced.  The last brand that I used on MINI was NEXEN,  it was not bad but tire tread doesn't last long.  So I was recommeded to this new brand ALTENZO from China.  It was highly recommended by a lot of my friends for the longivity and performance.  It cost BND$80 for each 225/45 18".

After the replacement I took the car for a few days test drive and so far so good.  The tires are quiet and does what its suppose to do.  Let see how long this tires will last.

Project Blue : Devil - EBC Ultimax 2 Rear Pads for MINI Countryman S

I just got my MINI rear pads replaced with new set of EBC Brakes Ultimax 2 imported directly from U.K.  I am a big fans of EBC brake pads ever since I got my hands on the front pads for the MINI.  I highly recommended this brand to you guys.  There are several types of grade to choose.  From standard grade, like the one I am using for both front or rear, or to performance or all the way to track grade. Best of all it is made in U.K!

The EBC brake pads cost about BND$60(shipping and local tax included).  MINI genuine part will probably set you around BND$180 to $200+. The brake sensor cost me around BND$20 and both items are from the same seller.  The brake sensor is from another UK brand called MINTEX. The brake sensor from MINI genuine part one will set you about BND$70~80.

The labor cost to change the pads and sensor cost me another BND$20.  All up I got it for just BND $100.00!  I never check how much BMW agent will charge but it won't be cheap as they are charge by hour!  Judging from the front pads that I inquired before I think is best to do this outside BMW agent.

It doesn't bother me whether I am using genuine parts or not as long as it does its job! Like I said before please buy smart!

2016 Geneva Motor Show - My Pick

1. This is the new Bugatti Chiron and is already officially the world fastest production car!  It is the replacement decade old Bugatti Veyron.  It has 1500hp from the updated W16 engine!  0-100km/hr 2.5 sec with topspeed is electronically limited to 420km/hr.   Bugatti will only produced 500 units and will cost your pocket a mere Euro2.4millions only. If we convert it with today's exchange rate and our 35% car import tax it will cost us a whopping BND$5.2millions!!!!

 2.  Koenigsegg Regera, the only hypercar that can rival the topspeed of Bugatti Chiron.  It packed a twin-turbo V8 engine with EV that pump out 1500hp brute power! The car doesn't has a traditional manual or auto transmission, instead it is connected to Koenigsegg Direct Drive Transmission.  (If you want more info on that please go and watch it on Youtube!)

 3.  Lamborghini Centenario.  If you follow the Geneva show for the past few years you will see this coming for Lamborghini to show case an ultra limited edition model with expensive price tag to match.  There will be 20units coupe and 20units roadster with a price tag of Euro1.75millions bucks!  Oh, did I mentioned they already sold all 40units?

 4.  The long awaited replacement for DB9,  this is the newest model design from ground up, Aston Martin DB11!  Under the hood comes fitted with a 5.2litre twin-turbo V12 engine that produced 600hp and push you back to your seat from 0-100km/hr in 3.9sec!

 5.  Porsche 911R. For the Porsche purist!  This car is basically a GT3-RS without the PDK gearbox!  The body livery pay tribute to the original 911R produced back in the 60s!  This model is limited to 991 units only and yes all of them already found a new home.

 6. Maserati Levante.  Another supercar company jumping into the SUV bandwagon.  I am sure this car will be very common sight in Brunei roads once its released.

 7.  Mercedes Benz AMG C43.  For people who can't afford the AMG C63, this is Mercedes take to compete with BMW M435i  I am really digging it, looks like the mini version of S-Class coupe

8.Toyota C-HR.  Toyota version of taking on the Nissan JUKE.  I personally would like to see this car when it is release in Brunei.  I like Toyota way of design interpretation.  Pretty sure this will be a big hit in Brunei like the Nissan Juke.

 9.  Subaru XV Concept.  The current generation is such a big hit and I am pretty sure this evolution model will be another great model for the Brunei market.

 10. Honda Civic Hatch Concept.  I have yet to see the latest Honda Civic in Brunei.  I have no idea what kind of marketing strategy our local Honda agent have in their sleeve.  They seriously are loosing out on this market.

11.  Audi Q2, the smallest SUV from the Q range.  This will go up against the BMW X1 and Mercedes Benz GLA.

Car Spotting In Brunei - AUDI RS6

I spotted a black Audi RS6 latest gen above my shop just last week.  This I believe is the 3rd RS6 in Brunei.  I never realized black RS6 looks so badass compared to the other two RS6 that landed earlier.  Definitely my choice of color for the all out sinister stealth to hunt unsuspecting racer!

Car Spotting In Brunei - BMW M4 or 4 Series Coupe?

**Update 4 March 2016 -  I was told this is not the real M4, it could be a modded 420d or 428i

Holy smoke.  One of my avid reader spotted this ultra rare BMW M4 at TimeSquare Berakas.  I am pretty surprise someone actually will pay BND230K for a BMW M4.  I am not sure how much this red one cost but the last time I check it cost that much for the one parked inside the showroom!  Insane mark-up!  Regardless I envy the owner of this red BMW M4.  One of my favorite true modern sportscar.

The car has 425hp on tap and goes to 100km/hr in 4.3sec(manual), 4.1sec fitted with M-DCT.   But of course people don't buy a M car for the numbers.  A "M" car is all about overall performance with  speed and handling all working in harmony. In my opinion no other cars can beat the all round performance of a "M".

New Car In Brunei - 2016 Mini Cooper Clubman S

The new generation Clubman has landed in Brunei!  I was at MINI showroom for a sneek peek last Friday.  This is one cool looking wagon.  It is longer and wider compared to previous gen, gone are the 3 door set-up.  The newest model now uses standard four traditional doors for easy access.   I was told this car will be launched this week at one of the shopping mall.  Price for this beauty will set you back around BND$69000++

I personally prefer the Clubman than the standard MINI Cooper S.  The Clubman has a more mature front facial whereas the Cooper looks like a gold fish, LOL.  Thats just my 2 cents.

The interior is also totally new and differ from Cooper S.  It is unique for Clubman only and comes with butt load of options to choose from.  The car you seeing here is pretty spec-up hence the price.  I am not sure how much the non-S will cost.

The unqie part about the Clubman is the automated split rear barn doors.  It can open remotely or automatically by waving your feet at the bottom of the bumper.  This is good for people who carry lots of groceries when walking to their car.

I am really liking this car a lot. Hope I can test drive one of this in the future...
