Pipercross Oiled Air-Filter For My Boxster S

HEEEEELLLLOOOOOOOOOOO Everyone.

Apologize again for not posting the last 6 months.  A lot of things has happened in my personal life and I have to put blogging on hold.  I am back again for more blogging.  Hopefully this time I can post more car contents.  BTW HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE. I hope everyone will continue to support this blog!!!

Ok my first blog post for 2020.  This is my very very first performance part for my very stock Porsche Boxster S.  I never had the intention to heavily modify my Porsche just like my Nissan. However it is now due for servicing and since the car is showing it's age I think it is fair to have the car soup-up with some minor mods.

This one is the performance air-filter from PIPERCROSS.  Pipercross is a famous air-filter manufacturer company from U.K.  They have tons of performance air-filter parts for different cars and make.  I bought this for around BND$90.00 in UK.  A stock filter will set me around BND$80.00++ from local agent.

This particular type of air-filter is different because it is oiled.  It required regularly maintenance and services every 30,000km so you can reuse the filter again.  I will be sending my car to MB STAR for my regular yearly maintenance.

MANN filter element for Boxster S

Here is another OEM parts for my Boxster S.  This is just a regular cabin filter from MANN Filter.  Another famous German OEM company that also produce many parts for Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi and Porsche.  This one only cost me around BND$20.00 when I bought in UK.

Projet : NES.II - PORSCHE Side Stripes

G'day readers!  Finally I got something to post for my Porsche Boxster S.  I had always wanted the Porsche side stripes that was first shown on the Porsche Boxster Spyder 987.2 back in 2011.

I actually ordered once online from Canada back in 2015 but it never arrived.  This time I gave it a go from another online store and it arrived safety.

The parcel I ordered arrived in around two weeks and came with the Porsche side stripes and the seller also threw in extra gifts as well.

Last month I took the challenge to have it installed by myself.  I never done this before but in this day of age one can just turn to Youtube for help.  Turns out it's pretty easy to apply!  It's a one man job and all you need is patient and water! What do you guys think of the new addition accessories added?

Porsche Boxster Sponge Problem!

Here is something that will surprise you from a 7 years old Porsche.   While driving down the street something flew out from my driver's side air vent.  I was like what the heck was that.  Then I realised sponges behind the air con vents has worn off and breaking off into pieces.  No big deal as this is common from Porsche.  A trusty vacuum got those sponges sucked out for good.

Project N.E.S II - Painted Center Console Pt.3

Finally done!!! Turns up way better then I thought.  What do you guys think?  This is also an option from Porsche catalogue.  You can have it painted silver or matching body color.  Price ranging from $1000~$1500.  I got mine painted for only BND$180.00.  The old center console problem is always an eyesore to look at every time I sat inside the car.   Now I can enjoy the newly painted console.  Lap Sing workshop did a phenomenal job with the color matching and paint job!  You guys should look for them when you have body panel to paint or repair. The workshop is also in the progress of transforming a Mitsubishi Lancer GLXi to Mitsubishi Evolution V!!! Yes I am talking about the full widebody with the AWD system. The workshop also handle super cars from my last few visit. Enjoy :)

Porsche Boxster S Center Console Refurbished!

While my Porsche is awaiting for its part to arrive I took away the center console from Porsche dealer to have it properly refurbished.  As you can see from these pictures, the center console is in very bad shape.  Tons of scratches from wear and tear.  The center console material is made of some kind of smooth rubbery feel material.  It's a common material in most German cars but problem is these kind of material doesn't fare very well in Brunei weather.

The center console is now with my regular paint workshop.  It will take a few days for them to refurbish these parts.  I am so excited for it to be done!  Watch this space!

Porsche Boxster S Deposit Paid!

Finally sorted out the deposit for my Boxster S gear shifting cable at Porsche Service center.  The cable and other parts with labor charges cost around BND$2200+.  Sadly they didn't have parts in stock so a waiting period of 2 weeks for me.  Currently my car is parked at Porsche center.  While I was there I checked out what hidden gems lurk behind the closed gate.

Can you spot the Lava Orange GT3-RS?  It is still awaiting PDI!

Here is the current looks of my Boxster S interior.  They have to strip out the center console to remove the cables.

Top cable is the one that is needed to be replace

While the car is awaiting for its part I took away the center console and other panels with me!
Why?  Well you will see something new for my lil Boxster interior transformation soon!

Porsche Boxster S Gear Shifting Problem!!!

Well, I was half way in my beautiful shower and my wife called me and told me the Boxster is stucked in reverse gear!  I was a bit puzzle when she mentioned that to me.  So I quickly hop out of the shower and zoom straight Sg.Akar roundabout where she is stranded.  Thank god it was just a few minutes from our home.

When I check on the car I realised the gear is indeed stucked in reverse gear.  She told me the gear shift suddenly became "loose" when she was shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear.  So she stop at the roundabout and try to shift to 1st gear which incidentally shifted to reverse gear.

I called "Porsche Assistance" which then connected me to Porsche Malaysia.  (Yes!  Porsche Malaysia LOL) I explained to the assistance over the phone about the stucked reverse gear.  I was then told to wait for a return call and so we wait around 10mins.  She told us since our car is no longer under warranty then there won't be any free towing.  I was like WTF? come on, my insurance already covered free towing.  I don't care about the free towing.  I just want to know is it safe to tow the car in reverse gear!!!  Apparently the assistance is no help but thank goodness I called up QAF Porsche Service Advisor, Ira, and she contacted her supervisor and advised me what to do during the towing.

What a night!  We waited for the tow truck to arrive and now my lil Boxster is resting at QAF Eurokar Porsche.  Tomorrow I will be going to the showroom and have a chit chat to see what the heck is going on.  Hopefully is nothing major.

My Two Shades of Yellow

Was moving my two cars to rearrange my garage parking and took a few quick shots while my rides are parked together.  The Porsche color is called Speed Yellow whereas the Nissan Skyline shade is called the Lighting Yellow.  As you can see Porsche has a more darker shade and Nissan has a brighter and lighter yellow shade.
