A Visit to Chrysler showroom...

Good morning Readers!  Today post will kick start with another visit to local showroom.  This is our local Chrysler Showroom in Subangseh, another subsidiary of GHK Groups. 

The car you looking at is Chrysler 300C, the latest sedan from Detriot.  This one here has a 3.6 Pentastar V6 engine.  I don't think they bring in the 5.7 V8 version but they do have the latest 2014 Chrsyler 300C SRT!

This version here cost around BND$80K whereas the SRT version cost a whooping BND$108K!  To be at BND$100K is actually consider affordable if you compare engine capacity.  The SRT is fitted with 6400cc V8 HEMI engine producing 475hp!  If you want this power from a BMW M5 or Mercedes Benz AMG E63, be prepare to pay BND$200K and above.

Anyway this 300C Luxury also comes with all bells and whistles.  It has luxury leather seat, a 8.4Uconnect touch screen infotainment, distant control cruise and a 8 speed automatic transmission.

My Love For HEMI V8....

Hi readers,  just want to confess my new found love of American V8 engines.  Particularly V8s that has HEMI stamped on the engine cover.   Avid reader will remember my love for DODGE products,  sadly my Dodge Journey doesn't come with a V8, instead I got half of the number of cyclinders.  LOL

I am still a JDM gashead but recently with the new arrival of Chrysler and Chevrolet imported by G.H.K got my adrenaline pumping.  During my recent visit, I was told they are importing full range of Chrysler products into Brunei.  By "full" range I am referring to Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and SRT.  SRT which stands for Street & Racing Technology,  all high performance cars coming out of Chrysler group will go to this umbrella, such as SRT Viper, SRT Challenger, SRT Jeep and so on.

I am still not sure which SRT models they will be importing but it is a good start for the American muscle car fans in Brunei(such as me!).  I was told Dodge Challenger will be coming soon too.

On another note, G.H.K already announced in the showroom that the 2014 Chevy Camaro will be coming to Brunei!!!  We just have to see which engine spec they will be importing!  Is it a V6 or V8?  Time will tell!

Re-Fresh ER34 - Exterior Paint Pt.5

Here is an update on my current car.  Yes it is taking too f**king long to paint my goddamn car.  I waited and waited since my last post back in early June.  Today finally there is progress going on when I visited the workshop.  The car just got the fresh coat of primer!  Next up to be prime will be the bonnet and front bumper.  Then it will be straight to the oven for some fresh paints.  God knows when they will bloody paint my car.  Maybe next week or maybe next month, who cares as  I don't really have the mood already.  Next update will be when the car get it fresh coat of paint!  Cheerios!

 

Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera spotted in Brunei

The other day I was at MBStar Euroauto pitting in both my parent Mercedes-Benz S320 and E240 for services.  MBStar Euroauto is located near Tungku Link Highway just behind the old Liang Toon Supermarket.  They handle most European cars such as Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati and also what you looking at here, Lamborghini!


I had sat in my friend Lamborghini Gallardo before but that was the normal standard Gen.1 version.  This here is a totally different beast.  This is a rare car as I do know there are only 2 in existant in Brunei.

LP 570-4 Superleggera LP 570-4 Superleggera.
In March 2010, Lamborghini announced the release of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, a lightweight and more powerful version of the Gallardo LP 560-4 in the sam e vein as the previous Superleggera. With carbon fiber used extensively inside and out to reduce weight to just 1,340 kg (2,954 lb) making it the lightest road-going Lamborghini in the range. The 5.2L V10 on the LP 570-4 gets a power bump over the standard Gallardo to 570 PS (419 kW; 562 hp) at 8,000 rpm. Performance has been improved to 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds, and a 325 km/h (202 mph) top speed

 I was told the owner of this car reside in K.B, no wonder I had never seen this car in Bandar before.

 Carbon fibre can be seen both inside and outside of the car!

Visit to Indera Motors Showroom

Today I pay a visit to a new showroom in town called INDERA MOTORS.  This new company is now currently the authorised distributor of Jaguar & Range Rover in BRUNEI!  Jaguar has been absent in Brunei scene for quite sometime and was last imported by Premier Motors whereas  Range Rover last owner was QAF Motors(yes the same company that owned BMW, MINI & PORSCHE).

When I walked into the showroom, this hot red Jaguar XFR stood out from the whole showroom floor.  This is one of the top range XF with V8 Supercharged!  The engine produced a raw 500hp capable of flying off the 0-100km/hr mark in less then 5 secs!  Price is estimated to be BND198,000.

The XF below is the normal version which is fitted with 3.0 V6 engine. Estimated price is around BND$100,000

This black cat below is the new Jaguar XJ, the largest Jaggggggg in the range.  I was told it is fitted with 2.0L 4cyclinder engine!!@#  First thing came into my mind was WTF is a 2.0 doing in such a big car???  Seriously come on,  even though it is turbo-charged, the 4 bangers might have trouble hauling this big cat(in my opinion).

My first encounter with a full LCD instrumental cluster!  It was so cool to see the screen when you started the engine.  Having the privilege to own and drive so many luxury cars in my life I have to say my first time sitting inside a Jaguar is sure as impressive as the first time I sat in my family S-Class and 7 Series.  Opening a Jaguar door is also quite a feat because it is very solid and yes the feel is heavy! LOL

This is the only Range Rover available in the showroom.  I was told the rest of the range will be arriving later in the year.  This silver EVOQUE is a diesel fitted engine.  Price is BND$109,000.  Not bad if you ask me, the car itself is loaded with options.

In case you didn't know, Jaguar owned Range Rover hence the sharing of the motorized pop-up gearknob.  Again, in case you didn't know, both are owned by Indian conglomerate, TATA Motors!

Project : Blue Devil Completed!

 Good morning readers!  Today I am glad to announce the completion of our MINI Countryman S Project : Blue Devil!  I didn't expect to finish the project so early.  LOL.  Well if you look at the pictures there are some area of the car which was left untouched, notably the wheels.  Engine zone remain stock because this car is my wife daily drives and she preferred a quiet ride to and back from work.

The car had a minor facial revamp by fitting genuine JCW Aero.  The aerokits included front and rear splitters with matching side skirts.  JCW bonnet and side decals were applied also using genuine MINI products. 

This project car has UNION JACK themes all over the exterior to the interior1 and 2 of the car!

Re-Fresh ER34 - Exterior Paint Pt.4

Good afternoon readers,  today is yet another boring progress on my ER34.  I just visited the workshop last weekend and my car is still on the same spot as it was 2 weeks ago! LOL! Only this time the top clear coat had been sanded off.  

The workshop is always filled with cars coming in for repairs, bodykit fitment and others.  Apparently mine is the only one waiting for full respray and that is why they are taking their own sweet time.  LOL.  I spoke to the owner and the next step would be laying down fresh new primer coat.   I guess the car won't be ready for my birthday which is coming in a few days.  Sigh....

Anyway, they also started repairing my badly damaged front bumper.  I won't be posting anymore on ER34 until the car is moved to the painting booth for fresh coat of new paints.
