Car Spotting In Brunei - Mercedes Benz S-Class Wagon

Have you guys ever seen a S-Class wagon?  It was never a production model and yet we have a few of these uniquely to Brunei!  This S-Class is based on W140 chassis and pictured were taken at Mercedes Benz Jati Transport Brunei! I actually seen this car when I was very young and surprise it is still in very good condition!

Here is an article I researched :-
"This W140 wagon was manufactured by an aftermarket supplier in Germany (not Mercedes-Benz).  You had to buy any W140 sedan you wanted (S 280 up to S 600), and the specialist will pick it up at the factory and make the conversion.
The cost for the conversion was about US$100,000 not including the price of the donor sedan. The wagon featured a rear electric folding seat for the second row (third row seats were NOT available for this model). Many of the parts (like the rear wiper, etc were taken from the W124T inventory).

According to the stats, about 100 W140 "T"s were manufactured, mostly sold in Germany, the Middle East and Hong Kong.
Another aftermarket manufacturer offered conversions for the W220, at a more reasonable US$50,000 for the conversion."

We are so lucky that we get to see so many unique and cool car in Brunei.

If you are curious how the inside looks?

Here is the W220 mentioned earlier on!  I didn't know this model existed till I researched the W140!

Car Spotting In Brunei - New and OLD BMW Z4

Snapped the new and old BMW Z4 parked together at Kiulap.  Both are great cars although I still prefer the first Gen Z4.  As you all know the Z4 replacement coming soon will be sharing the same chassis as the new Toyota Supra.  Can't wait what Toyota and BMW going to show us!

Dodge Journey R/T Accessories - Rubber Film Front Grille

Here we go again on the rubber film for Dodge.  This time I am gonna spray the front grille.  It took me about 5 minutes to remove the front grille and another 20 minutes to mask the section that is not requiring any rubber film.  The next step is just simply spray the grille.  I gave it a total of 5 coats to get this result as shown below.

Step 1 : Masking

Step 2 : Mist Coat (light coat)

Step 3 : Four(4) layer of thick coats

Hope you guys like the result like I do!

Hmmm Should I rubber film the wheels?

Car Spotting In Brunei - BMW M135i

I just spotted another unit of BMW M135i near Chung Hwa Middle School bridge.  This is the fourth units M135i that I knew existed in Brunei.  I spotted a blue color unit last year.  And I was told a used unit is currently up for sale.  I have a soft spot for this generation BMW 1 series as I almost got myself a 118i unit back in 2012.

Dodge Journey R/T Accessories - Rubber Spray Film On All Rear Badges

Hello readers,  remember a few posts earlier when I bought the replacement wipers for my DODGE.  In there you will notice a bottle of spray can.  Well, that spray can is called "COLORFUL RUBBER Spray Film" by Carlas.  You can say it is the China version of PlasticDip.  The can cost only BND$10.00 which is less then half the price of original PlasticDip.  My friend actually introduced this product to me and told me it work just like the original.  Being a D.I.Y guy I couldn't wait to give this product a try.

So here are the tools that you need as shown below:
  • Polish liquid, earbud and towel for cleaning the area you want to spray
  • Old newspaper or papers and Masking tape for masking the body to prevent unwanted spray
  • Pen knife or scissor for cutting up old newspaper or papers to cover the car
  • Toothpick for picking deep and corner rubber film

Please make sure you clean the area that you are planning to rubber spray. Today post is rubber spray all the rear badges.

I gave the rear about 4 coats of rubber spray.  The first coat was sprayed lightly like a mist.  Then from second to fourth I gave it a thick coats.  Make sure you give yourself an interval of 5-8 minutes between each coats.

Important when spraying is to make sure you sprayed all corners top to bottom and left to right to prevent missing a section

After the final coats give it 10minutres to dry and then remove all the masking tapes and papers

Start peeling!

Another way is to stick masking tape on top of the unwanted section and just peel it off!

Get yourself a toothpick to peel off deep corner section

Here is the rear before rubber spray film

And here is the final result!

Honestly I am very impress with the result given it only cost BND$10.00!  I think I only used up about 30% of the can.  With those extra I am planning to rubber spray film another section of the DODGE very soon!

Car Spotting In Brunei - NIssan Skyline GT-R R32 & R33

During the launch of MY17 Nissan GT-R there were two very unique cars on display as well.  The Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 & R33 took the center stage inside the Nissan Showroom.  I was told there were some stories behind these two cars.  Hopefully someone knows anything please share it with us.  The cars are in prestine conditions and had all windows tinted.  The R32 looks especially the cleanest, amazingly the owner didn't even do any modification and the even has the stock exhaust!!!  Sadly the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 could not be found.

New Car In Brunei - Nissan GT-R (R35) MY2017

Last weekend was the launching of the new facelifted 2017 Nissan GT-R R35.  I will go straight to the price, this car will cost you BND$220K++.  This car is clearly not for the average people, for BND$220K you can get a nice and decent semi-detached home in Brunei.  That is why R35 is quite limited in Brunei.  However there are more then 5 units currently in the used car market pricing ranging from BND$89K to BND$130K depending on the MY.  Regardless this is still one of the cheapest supercar of the century.  It sprints from 0-100km/hr in 2.5sec!!!!  This MY17 does come with new design front and rear bumpers.  The most notable changes are the interiors and materials.  Sorry we don't have any interiors pics but most of you can just google it.
