Car Articles - KUHL Racing Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R/GT-T

What do you guys think of this aftermarket performance aerokit from KUHL RACING from Japan.  Last year KUHL RACING presented a gold engraved Nissan GT-R R35 and won the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon Custom Car Contest.  This year in 2016 they decided to transform the R34 as you can see here.  The kit can be fitted to both R34 GT-R and R34 GT-T.  Not sure about the price but it got my heart pumping to swap a new kit for my aging GT-T.  What do you guys think?

Car Articles - KIA STINGER

The KIA Stinger finally here ladies and gentlemen! I had been following this model from its conceptual design in 2013 to full production model as seen here!

This is KIA take to compete with the BMW 4 Series.  Just look at it!  My jaw literally dropped when I saw the video on Youtube.  If you didn't know I am a big fans of KIA models.  I really love their take on design to compete with the top.   If you look at it the car also screams tons of design cue from the Germans.  There is a bit of Mercedes, BMW and Porsche in it.  The interior at one glance you would had thought it is a Mercedes Benz model interior. LOL!

There are two engine choices, a 255hp 2.0litre 4 bangers and the almighty 3.3 V6 with 365hp that sprint from nor to 62mph (100km/hr) in 5.1 sec!  That is the same time as my Porsche Boxster S!

 

So the big question here is, will it come to Brunei?  I certainly hope so but there are several models from KIA which are not sold in Brunei.  Hopefully KIA Brunei will see the potential of this model and bring in to compete with the Germans.  As for the price I am guessing around BND50K to BND60K.

 

Ford Mustang Differences

Here is a video for you guys to distinguish the difference between the US and EURO spec Ford Mustang.  Nope, the Ford Mustang is still not yet in Brunei!!!!

I can feel the pain for those who are still awaiting for Ford Mustang to land in Brunei.  I also don't know what took our local agent so long to import them in.  Many realible source already confirmed it is coming and yet 2017 is nearing and a model has yet to be seen.  I heard rumors Ford Brunei might be taken over by another car company.  How true is this?  Time will tell!  In the mean time please enjoy the video below!

2016 Geneva Motor Show - My Pick

1. This is the new Bugatti Chiron and is already officially the world fastest production car!  It is the replacement decade old Bugatti Veyron.  It has 1500hp from the updated W16 engine!  0-100km/hr 2.5 sec with topspeed is electronically limited to 420km/hr.   Bugatti will only produced 500 units and will cost your pocket a mere Euro2.4millions only. If we convert it with today's exchange rate and our 35% car import tax it will cost us a whopping BND$5.2millions!!!!

 

 2.  Koenigsegg Regera, the only hypercar that can rival the topspeed of Bugatti Chiron.  It packed a twin-turbo V8 engine with EV that pump out 1500hp brute power! The car doesn't has a traditional manual or auto transmission, instead it is connected to Koenigsegg Direct Drive Transmission.  (If you want more info on that please go and watch it on Youtube!)

 3.  Lamborghini Centenario.  If you follow the Geneva show for the past few years you will see this coming for Lamborghini to show case an ultra limited edition model with expensive price tag to match.  There will be 20units coupe and 20units roadster with a price tag of Euro1.75millions bucks!  Oh, did I mentioned they already sold all 40units?

 4.  The long awaited replacement for DB9,  this is the newest model design from ground up, Aston Martin DB11!  Under the hood comes fitted with a 5.2litre twin-turbo V12 engine that produced 600hp and push you back to your seat from 0-100km/hr in 3.9sec!

 5.  Porsche 911R. For the Porsche purist!  This car is basically a GT3-RS without the PDK gearbox!  The body livery pay tribute to the original 911R produced back in the 60s!  This model is limited to 991 units only and yes all of them already found a new home.

 6. Maserati Levante.  Another supercar company jumping into the SUV bandwagon.  I am sure this car will be very common sight in Brunei roads once its released.

 7.  Mercedes Benz AMG C43.  For people who can't afford the AMG C63, this is Mercedes take to compete with BMW M435i  I am really digging it, looks like the mini version of S-Class coupe

 8.Toyota C-HR.  Toyota version of taking on the Nissan JUKE.  I personally would like to see this car when it is release in Brunei.  I like Toyota way of design interpretation.  Pretty sure this will be a big hit in Brunei like the Nissan Juke.

 9.  Subaru XV Concept.  The current generation is such a big hit and I am pretty sure this evolution model will be another great model for the Brunei market.

 10. Honda Civic Hatch Concept.  I have yet to see the latest Honda Civic in Brunei.  I have no idea what kind of marketing strategy our local Honda agent have in their sleeve.  They seriously are loosing out on this market.

11.  Audi Q2, the smallest SUV from the Q range.  This will go up against the BMW X1 and Mercedes Benz GLA.

2015 Frankfurt Motor Show - Concept Cars

Hi there readers, I would like to talk about this year 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show that is happening right now in Germany.  I don't usually report on car news but Frankfurt Motor show is one of the most important event in the car community.  It showcase many concept cars and new production models from all manufacturers around the world.

This year 2015 Frankfurt Motor show has a few surprise from many major manufacturers.  The best of show in my opinion would be Porsche E-Mission and the Bugatti Vision Gran Tourismo Concept.  Truly a beauty to behold.  Here are some of my favorite concepts for this year 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Porsche Mission E is my personal favorite of the show.  Basically a TESLA killer that will be seeing on our street around 2018!  This car is full electric and only need 15mins to charged up to 80% and can do so wirelessly!  600hp that goes from 0-100km/hr in just 3.5sec! Oh yes it also comes with suicide doors and seat four comfortably!

 Bugatti Vision GT Concept.  For the avid fans of Playstation GT Series.  This car will be available for play very soon.

Honda Project 2 And 4 Concept.  An open cart with 1 seat from Honda fitted with 999cc V4 engine from its motorbike division that rev up to 10500rpm!!!!

Mercedes Benz IAA Concept.  Ultimate aerodynamic!

Nissan GRIPZ.  A take on sports SUV by Nissan. Rumors has it Nissan won't be replacing the next generation Z or Fairlady but instead we will be seeing an SUV as shown like this below with a "Fairlady" badge!

  

Toyota C-HR II.  This is a preview of JUKE rival from Toyota! Production will be slated around 2016!

Any Toyota fans out there?  My childhood friend recently sent me these photo while he was holidaying at Toyota City.  Yeap, there is a town in Japan that is named after Toyota.  It is located in Aichi perfecture, east of Nagoya.  Toyota main manufacturer plant , Tsutsumi Plant is also located there.  The town used to be called Koromo but due to the strong ties with Toyota they changed it to Toyota-Shi or Toyota City in 1959.

The city population is almost the same as Brunei population with about 400,000 people living in the area serving mostly for Toyota.  These photos were taken at Toyota Automobile Museum by my friend.  I am sure there are a few more models on display but most likely we had already seen it on road already.

Siam Paragon Car Showcase

These photos were sent to me thru my good friend who recently visited Bangkok, Thailand.  This shopping mall is called Siam Paragon, one of the biggest mall in Asia.  The uniqueness about it is it houses a few luxury automotive marques as seen from these photos.  It was officially opened in 2005.  Hopefully I will make this a must-visit list when I travel to Bangkok.  Enjoy the photos!

Brunei Fake Car News!

A picture of a Lamborghini Veneno sitting near some containers stating "Veneno has landed in Brunei" is confirmed to be fake!  This particular Veneno belongs to the Lamborghini Museum and was temporary on loan for a special event in Sepang, Kuala Lumpur.  Social media info circulating in Brunei is really getting out of hand.  Seriously this people really has nothing better to do but spread fake news and rumors!

In case you didn't know about this car,  there are only 4 Veneno Coupe in the whole world.  2 are located in U.S.A, 1 in Middle East and 1 in Italy.  The one in Italy belongs to Lamborghini Museum with designation called Number Zero.  It is the same car that was shown in the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.  

There is another variant called the Veneno Roadster in which 9 units were produced and were all sold out.  The price if you must ask is Bnd$5million for the coupe and Bnd$5.3million for the Roadster.  These two version of Veneno were based on the popular Lamborghini Aventador.  It was to commemorate Lamborghini 50th Anniversary!
